The BioMar group is one of the leading suppliers of high performance fish feed to the aquaculture industry. Our main business areas are feed for salmon and trout in Norway, the United Kingdom, and Chile, and feed for trout, eel, sea-bass, and sea-bream in Continental Europe. Roughly one out of four farmed fish produced in Europe and Chile are fed with BioMar fish feed.
BioMar fish feed types cover the full life cycle of the fish including larvae feed, fry feed, smolt feed, grower feed, and brood stock feed.

Worldwide the BioMar Group supplies feed to around 60 countries and to more than 25 different fish species, which in addition to the above include species such as cod, turbot, halibut, meagre, and sturgeon. BioMar also produces special certified feeds for organic fish farming and a number of value added fish feed products focusing e.g. on fish health or meat quality.
In 2011 the BioMar Group had a revenue of approx. DKK 7,300 million and produced approx. 850,000 tonnes fish feed using state-of-the-art production facilities in seven countries. The group employs 850 persons and operates ten factories in seven countries.
BioMar is organised with a group function and three regions. The group headquarter is located in Aarhus, Denmark. The three regions are:
BioMar North Sea has a long tradition as supplier of high performance feed for salmon and trout, but is at the same time a pioneer in the development of feed to new species in coldwater marine aquaculture such as cod and halibut. BioMar North Sea operates two factories in Norway and one factory in the UK.
BioMar Americas primarily supplies the important Chilean market with high performance feed for trout and salmon, but BioMar Americas also exports to other markets in the Pacific Area including among others Australia and New Zealand. BioMar operates three factories in Chile – one of these in joint-venture with AquaChile.
BioMar Continental Europe covers the needs of an increasing number of fish species in aquaculture with specialized high performance feeds for trout, sea bass, sea bream, eel, sturgeon, arctic char, turbot, meagre, and a number of other species. BioMar Continental Europe operates factories in Denmark, Spain, France, and Greece and has a number of sales companies across Europe as well as export activities to the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
The BioMar Group is fully owned by Aktieselskabet Schouw & Co., which is listed on OMX The Nordic Exchange in Copenhagen.
