BioMar renews COOP Certification

The COOP Certification ensures continuous supply of BioMar fry feed to the Italian fish farmers.

At the audit on 1st July, the representatives from COOP Italy were satisfied with BioMar’s procedures for purchasing and receiving of raw materials. Sales Manager for fresh water species in Italy, Giacomo Galioto is very positive about the result of this years’ audit: - In order to meet the end consumers’ demand for healthy fish products, it is very important for us to contribute to this by supplying the Italian fish farmers with high quality feed. We therefore carefully select our raw material suppliers, and through regular supplier audits, we ensure documentation about country of origin of the raw materials, whether the feed is GMO free and in order to prove that no cross contamination has happened.

BioMar has renewed the COOP certification again, and can therefore continue to sell BioMar fry feed to the Italian fish farmers who supply the COOP Italy supermarkets with fish products.

Giacomo Galioto concludes: - For BioMar, it is important always to be able to document the raw materials, raw material contracts with the suppliers, cleaning of the trucks, the feed production process and carefully to analyse the feed before it leaves the factory. In this way, we ensure that we meet the requirements of both the Italian fish farmers and the end consumers.
