New version of INICIO Plus fry feed

On February 1st BioMar launches INICIO Plus in an updated version. The new version has got a more attractive taste, the digestibility has been improved, and finally the new version includes the first probiotics approved for salmonids.

The updated version of INICIO Plus is based on the old INICIO Plus, which has shown excellent performance both in test and in use in hatcheries and fish farms. The declaration is therefore also unchanged in the new version, but even so the new version comes with some important adjustments including an additional amount of krill meal as well as the introduction of squid meal and special hydrolised fish meal - three raw materials which are all characterised by a very high digestibility and an attractive taste, which stimulates fish appetite.

But the single largest novelty in the updated version of INICIO Plus is the addition of the first probiotics approved for use in feed for trout and other salmonids. The background for the addition of probiotics can be found in a large research programme, where feed with probiotics have shown to reduce the mortality and the amount of deformities, and thereby the amount of downgradings at slaughter as well as the amount of fish, which has to be removed during the growth period. At the same time studies show, that probiotics in fish feed can have the same positive effect on general health and feed utilisation, as is well known from feed for land animals. Thereby it is natural to add probiotics to BioMar's health concept.
