Feed for intensive pike perch farming

The pike perch is still a small and new specie in recirculated fish farming, even if for many years it has been farmed in a more extensive way across Europe. Both through research and trials in cooperation with farmers BioMar focus on the development of feed for this voracious predator.

LARVIVA

The pike perch is one of the few fresh water fish in fish farming, which has to be fed with live feed during the larval stage. Pike perch larvae can be started directly on Artemia, but rotifers are a good alternative. BioMar's LARVIVA ROCULT and MULTIGAIN enrich rotifers and artemia with the fatty acids and vitamins, which are needed by the fish larvae. When the fish larvae develop and reach the weaning stage we recommend starting with START 100. Thereafter the optimal solution is a gradual change to WEAN-EX 100 up to 900.

INICIO Plus

INICIO Plus Granulates and feed pellets is the natural feed solution once the pike perch enter the fry phase. The INICIO Plus feed covers all the nutritional needs of the fry during this stage, and contributes to healthy growth through the high content of vitamins, minerals, and nucleotides.

The high physical quality of the granulates and pellets contributes to keeping the water environment clean and thereby reduces the risk of disease outbreaks. At the same time it of course means less waste of feed.

EFICO Sigma 870

EFICO Sigma 870 is with its high DP/DE ratio (Digestible Protein / Digestible Energy) an excellent grower feed for the pike perch. EFICO Sigma 870 is produced utilising only selected raw materials, including very high quality fish meal. This contributes both to feed performance and growth and to a high meat quality in the final fish product.

Thanks to our double-screw extruders and special drying techniques, we produce pellets with sufficient resistance, in order not to break and generate dust, but still sufficiently porous in order to deliver all the nutrients in the digestive system of the fish. The final superficial coating with Omega-3 rich fish oil increases fish appetite.

EFICO Genio 991

EFICO Genio 991 is the perfect choice when it comes to feeding brood stock. With a low energy level and high levels of vitamines and minerals EFICO Genio 991 contributes to the development of big high quality eggs.

In the developement special attention was given to the physical characteristics. EFICO Genio 991 is as a semi floating feed, which makes it easy to control the eating behaviour of the mother fish. At the same time the high physical quality of the pellet without dust and crumble results not only in less loss of feed but it also in a cleaner and more healthy water environment.
