BioMar West Med GLOBALG.A.P certified

BioMar SAS in France and BioMar Iberia in Spain are now certified according to GLOBALG.A.P. From February 2011, the two BioMar factories in Nersac, France and Dueñas, Spain have been certified against the most recent and most demanding GLOBALG.A.P check-list for Compound feed manufacturing (CFM), version 2.0 from March 2010.

GLOBALG.A.P is a private actor having established an assurance system for Good Agricultural Practice in the food sector. Certification of this scheme must be undertaken by independent and accredited certification bodies. Bureau Véritas has done the certification of BioMar West Med.

The GLOBAL G.A.P responds to consumer concerns on feed/food safety, environmental protection, worker health, safety, and welfare and animal welfare by:

  • Encouraging adoption of commercially viable farm assurance schemes, which promote the minimization of agrochemical and medicinal inputs, within Europe and worldwide.
  • Developing a Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.) framework for benchmarking existing Compound Feed assurance schemes and standards including traceability.
  • Providing guidance for continuous improvement and the development and understanding of best practice.
  • Establish a single, recognised framework for independent verification.
  • Communication and consulting openly with consumers and key partners, including manufacturers, exporters and importers.

The GLOBALG.A.P scheme covers the process of certified products from farm inputs to customer delivery. It does represent more than 200 requirements concerning organization and control measures linked among others to quality and food safety.

The GLOBALG.A.P certification of BioMar SAS and BioMar Iberia covers the entire production site and all feed ranges.
