Trout (Oncorynchus mykiss)

BioMar offers two principal feed types for trout, with semi-floating and sinking variants in order to cover all possible farming situations. These two feed types are optimized according to the YTELSE performance concept. In addition to this, we also offer special feed types responding to specific certifications. All our feed types are extruded and based on selected raw materials. The formulation has been optimised by our nutritionists on the basis of the know-how obtained over the years by our Research & Development organisation.

EFICO YS 691

The EFICO YS 691 is an extruded high energy feed recommended for obtaining fast growth and very low conversion rates under optimal farming conditions. In order to optimally adapt to the needs of the fish, the value of the Digestible Protein / Digestible Energy diminish with increasing pellet size, respecting the natural biorhythm of the trout. As all feeds in the YTELSE performance concept this feed secures a fixed content of digestible energy and a constant DP:DE ratio.

EFICO YS 687F

The EFICO YS 687F is an extruded feed with a medium energy level recommended for use all through the year and under a variety of different farming situations. Like for all BioMar feed types the formulation of EFICO YS 687F has been created based on the principles of optimization of digestible amino acids and the balance between Digestible Protein and Digestible Energy.

EFICO Genio 991F brood stock feed

Focus in the development of EFICO Genio 991F has been on achieving a stable and strong breeding performance. The relation between digestible protein and energy has been adjusted according to our research results, just like the fatty acid profile and the content of vitamins has been adjusted according to the specific needs of the fish during vitellogenesis.
EFICO Genio 991F is a floating feed. This makes it easier to follow the feed consumption. At the same time, the high physical quality of the pellets contributes to a clean and healthy water environment.

We recommend to utilise EFICO Genio 991F from 6 months before the expected time of spawning. Outside this period, it might be desirable to utilise a normal grower feed with a higher energy level to promote growth of the mother fish.

EFICO YS 692 LR is a top performing trout feed responding to the specifications of the “Label Rouge Truite de Source” and “Label Rouge Truite Fumée” certifications.

Health concept feed EFICO Vital 508

EFICO Vital 508 is a high performance grower feed developed to improve the health status of trout, and in particular to reduce the incidence of gastro enteritis. EFICO Vital 508 is the first grower feed containing probiotics approved for farming of salmonids.
We recommend feeding EFICO Vital in the start of the summer period when water temperatures start to go up. However, to obtain the maximum effect of the probiotics we recommend that EFICO Vital is given to the fish on a regular basis throughout the entire risk period.
