Modifications to product labels

A new European regulation concerning the labeling of complete feed comes into force this autumn. BioMar will use the occasion to update our product labels and make them easier to read.

The main information needed for identification of the products will in the future be printed in the heading of the product labels with big letters, and it will include product name, pellet size, pigment added, net weight and batch number.

Another important change on the label is that raw materials will be named in accordance with the “Community Catalogue of Feed Materials” and will be listed in descending order by weight. The new regulation does not require indication of the percentages of composition by weight.

The declaration of additives will be changed so that it in the future comprises the functional group, the European identification number (E000), and the added amount.

The implementation of the new labels will for technical reasons happen continuously over the coming months and we only expect to have a full implementation early next year.
