Our annual sustainability report

The GRI report creates transparency about our actions both for our customers and other stakeholders.

The report outlines BioMar's ambitious targets for sustainability, but also shows the strong commitment of the BioMar Group over the years in developing sustainable and responsible solutions throughout all its activities. 

BioMar commits to public transparency of our activities through annual disclosures in accordance with the GRI G4 framework.

Our Sourcing Policy

Our Sourcing Policy

BioMar Group applies defined minimum standards in sourcing of ingredients, although additional requirements may apply for some markets.

BioMar is sourcing all raw materials from designated suppliers, approved and audited according to BioMar risk assessment procedures including traceability, sustainability, food safety, quality systems, and ethical and environmental policy. All suppliers must recognise the BioMar Code of Conduct.

At BioMar, we care about our planet and its people. We are dedicated to innovating for an efficient and sustainable aquaculture, doing our part in developing the global industry. Raw materials count for in important part of our impact on people and the planet. Therefore, BioMar is committed to ensure responsible sourcing of raw materials.

 

The BioMar code of conduct for suppliers sets out requirements corresponding with our fundamental principles in responsible sourcing.

To deliver on our commitment, we are working with suppliers to ensure high quality, food safety and to develop circular and restorative raw materials. We safeguard that our products are based upon raw materials which are produced in a responsible way, and we are committed to conduct responsible sourcing with integrity and high ethical standards ensuring that our principles and meticulous approach applies throughout our supply chain.

The Responsible Sourcing Policy specifies the 5 Fundamental Principles, which all suppliers must comply with when supplying raw materials to BioMar globally. Our local companies might apply additional local sourcing policies and processes, however always within the frame of the global policy.

This position statement outlines BioMar’s requirements for sourcing agricultural commodities and their derivatives. All BioMar suppliers must also comply with the Responsible Sourcing Policy and Code of Conduct for Suppliers. In addition to these internal requirements, BioMar is committed to sourcing vegetable ingredients that meet the needs of our customers certified to best-practice industry standards, such as Global G.A.P, Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC).

This position statement outlines BioMar’s requirements for sourcing marine ingredients. All BioMar suppliers must also comply with the Responsible Sourcing Policy and Code of Conduct for Suppliers. BioMar is regularly audited and certified by competent authorities and organisations for the certifications of products and processes.

ISO Certificates

ISO Certificates

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non -governmental organisation who develop international standards. 

Currently, BioMar Australia are certified in:

ISO 9001:2015 - A dynamic system, which implies that quality assurance is an ongoing process that is on the agenda every day. This ensures continuous improvement and streamlining of processes and routines, for the benefit of both BioMar and our customers.

ISO 14001:2015 - Demonstrates that BioMar's environmental management system has been measured in accordance with good environmental management. 

ISO 22000:2018 - Establishes the requirements for a food safety management system. This validates BioMar's commitment to creating safe feed products.  

BAP

BAP

BAP certification shows that producers follow the best practices to deliver farmed seafood both safely and responsibly. BAP standards are built on their four pillars of sustainability: food safety, environmental responsibility, social accountability, and animal health and welfare. 

These pillars align with BioMar and our commitment to developing sustainable aquaculture practices.

Global GAP

Global GAP are an organisation committed to ensuring safe and sustainable agriculture worldwide. Certification in Global GAP demonstrates BioMar's dedication to implementing and advancing good agricultural practices.  

FeedSafe

FeedSafe is a program that ensures an organisation’s commitment to quality assurance and risk mitigation in the manufacture and use of animal feeds. Certification in FeedSafe demonstrates that BioMar has met the quality requirements specified within the Code of Good Manufacturing Practices for the Feed Milling Industry.
