Terje Sæther receives the Norwegian medal for Long and Faithfull Service

December 18 2020

Terje Sæther has worked for BioMar Norway in positions within R&D and Marketing for more than 30 years and this year sees him entering retirement. Terje is well recognised across the BioMar world for his contributions to the development and promotion of some of BioMar’s well respected products and brands. Back in 1992 he spearheaded Bio-Optimal the first in the revolutionary growth-feeds before developing BioMar’s first range of preventive health-feeds called SMARTfeed. He was also part of the creation of BioSustain, the aquaculture industry’s first feed sustainability program and more recently BioMar’s Pigment Performance Technology.

The Royal Norwegian Society for Development has also recognised his contribution and as such he has been awarded the medal for Long and Faithfull Service. Terje started as Marketing Manager back in 1988 and was an important contributor in building a company dedicated to aquaculture feeds that we know today as BioMar Norway.

Over the last 30 years, Terje has been a valued member of the BioMar family and he has become an important part of the Norwegian aquaculture industry. Whilst his retirement and this recognition for his life’s work is well deserved, we at BioMar will miss his valuable contributions and leadership of thought.

The Medal of Long and Faithful Service was established in 1888. The Royal Norwegian Society for Development was encouraged to reward long and faithful service in working life. The first to receive the award were employees within agriculture and domestic life. Eventually, people employed in industry, trade, crafts and public service were also included.
