We make a promise, to our planet and its people with a set of ambitious targets that will seek to aid in the restoration of our environment while enabling humanity to thrive. New RAS feed targets the bottleneck in marine nurseries

BioMar announces a new RAS feed concept, LARVIVA ORBIT, that aims to improve the efficiency of marine nurseries. It will support an industry move of a prolonged time at hatchery for fry before they are transferred to sea. This will aid in the expected acceleration in the use of RAS technology in marine nurseries, and thereby support the development of hatchery businesses for marine fish species.

Q1 BioMar: Solid start to the year

BioMar continues the strong growth in the salmon markets with an important increase in volumes sold compared to Q1 2020 in most markets. At the same time the shrimp feed business showed robust results due to new product offerings and service solutions within high performing and sustainable shrimp feed.

BioMar announces new division for Asia

In line with strategic aspirations of growth, BioMar is now establishing a fourth division embracing activities in the Asian region, including Vietnam and China. With over 30 years’ experience in aquaculture Francois Loubere will assume the role as VP Asia, while Luis García Romero will take over the role as MD for West Med & Africa.

Terje Sæther receives the Norwegian medal for Long and Faithfull Service

Terje Sæther has worked for BioMar Norway in positions within R&D and Marketing for more than 30 years and this year sees him entering retirement. Terje is well recognised across the BioMar world for his contributions to the development and promotion of some of BioMar’s well respected products and brands. Back in 1992 he spearheaded Bio-Optimal the first in the revolutionary growth-feeds before developing BioMar’s first range of preventive health-feeds called SMARTfeed. He was also part of the creation of BioSustain, the aquaculture industry’s first feed sustainability program and more recently BioMar’s Pigment Performance Technology.

BioMar response to the loss of MSC certification

It is very disappointing to witness the MSC suspension and subsequent loss of certification of the Atlanto-Scandian herring and blue whiting fisheries. BioMar advocates for healthy oceans and sustainably well managed fisheries. We made a commitment to the use of certified fish meal and fish oil in our Sustainability Report five years ago and we will continue honouring this pledge.
