Our Story
BioMar Australia's journey began in 2017 when the Danish aqua-feed specialist announced plans to establish a $56 million production facility in Australia, to support the Australian and New Zealand Aquaculture industries. In April 2020, BioMar Australia began producing from our state-of-the-art facility in Wesley Vale, Tasmania, bringing world-class aqua-feed solutions directly to the region.
Since commencing operations in 2020, our growth has been remarkable - expanding from 38 full-time employees to over 70 today, with the majority proudly employed from Tasmania's northwest. BioMar Australia now feeds over 10 different species, serving customers across Tasmania, Australia, and New Zealand, demonstrating our commitment to supporting the diverse aquaculture industry throughout the region with innovative, sustainable feed solutions.
Community
At BioMar Australia, being a responsible and engaged member of Tasmania's community is at the heart of what we do. Since beginning operations in 2020, we've maintained an open-door policy, proudly welcoming over 500 visitors to our facility who have experienced firsthand our commitment to sustainable aquaculture and local manufacturing. We believe in transparency, dialogue, and continuous improvement through community feedback.
