BioMar's feed ranges cover the special needs in the full life cycle from egg to harvest of both fresh water and marine fish species, and of shrimp.
Starting with the LARVIVA diets for hatcheries and a number of specific types of fry feeds we offer a large variety of transfer feeds and grower feeds developed to match the nutritional needs of specific species in various farming conditions.
On top, we offer specially enriched broodstock feeds, conditioning the brood stock to deliver highest quality eggs and by this securing the best possible start for a new cycle.
Our BioRhythmic feeding concept helps to achieve the best possible production results when growth rate, feed conversion rate and survival are very important parts of the picture.

BioMar's high-quality starters feeds are designed to give fry the very best start in life. Thanks to the market's smallest heat-extruded pellet, measuring just 0.35 mm, and carefully selected ingredients, we offer the chance for using high-quality pellets from the fry's very first feeding. In addition to being a nutritionally balanced feed, our starter feeds are formulated with Bactocell®, which offers a number of health benefits. Our starter feeds thus effortlessly joins our range of well documented BioMar products known for their outstanding quality ingredients that produce high yields and healthy smolt.
The high physical quality of our starter feeds provide good water stability and suitability for all feeding systems. This not only results in higher growth rates and lower feed consumption, but water quality is also improved due to the low volume of particles and low feed wastage.
Sound investments in the fresh water phase produce large and vibrant smolt. Our smolt feed is manufactured to permit maximum growth, at the same time as supporting the fish through the physiological challenges they encounter during production. BioMar's grower ranges include feed targeted at salmon production in both sea cage farms and Recirculation Aquaculture systems. In our largest salmon markets, BioMar offers grower feeds based on two complete lines of standard feed, Energy and Energy X, plus two feeds with added performance, Power and Quick.
BioMar's broodstock feed is specially formulated to provide key nutrients that will be transferred from the mother's diet to the egg reserves stored in the yolk. Our broodstock feed ranges* support production of nutrient-rich eggs which hatch into high performing fry. In addition, it contains immunomodulating ingredients and other micronutrients, which promote good condition of the broodstock to increase success of future egg production.

BioMar’s ORBIT provides the optimal feed performance combined with optimal biofilter performance. Careful selection of raw materials for balance of highly digestible amino acids reduces the amount of waste and ammonia output. The reduction in waste allows for increased biomass production resulting in an improved return on investment.
BioMar's product ranges for cleaner fish, SYMBIO and LUMPFISH, provide these species with the nutrition they need to perform well in their important delousing tasks. Cleaner fish have become important species in the salmon industry, because they feed on sea lice that live on salmon. Lice-eating cleaner fish species are now farmed on a large scale to control lice in a chemical-free, natural way. Salmon lice feed on skin cells and mucus, and represent the greatest challenge for salmon farmers today. Although sea lice do not affect food safety or the quality of the salmon, they do make salmon more vulnerable to illness and affect growth. At BioMar, the development of feed for cleaner fish (both lumpfish and wrasse) is highly prioritized. In 2010, we started performing controlled trials with feed for cleaner fish. This research was founded on the competence that the BioMar Group has built up through decades as a supplier of feed to other marine species of farmed fish, especially in the Mediterranean Sea region. Over the last years, we have intensified the development of cleaner fish feed, and our well-documented range is offered to farms who prefer using cleaner fish for treatment of lice instead of medication.

Through the BioMar Retention Technology (BRT) project we have learned that process conditions in the feed production itself have a very strong impact on the feed's structure and physical properties.
BRT focuses specifically on nutrition related to process technology. The knowledge package BRT will ensure taking the maximum performance potential out of any feed formula.
