BioMar Australia prepares for ASC feed standard
Upcoming ASC Audit – 1st – 3rd of July 2025
BioMar Australia’s Wesley Vale production facility is undergoing an audit for the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) feed standard between July 1st - July 3rd. The ASC feed standard ensures that feed production is conducted sustainably, both socially and environmentally. It covers the entire production process, from the raw materials we use to factory processes and corporate social responsibility.
BioMar Australia kindly asks for community input.
We invite our neighbours, stakeholders and extended community to submit any comments in advance of our audit. This provides us with an opportunity to share feedback regarding our environmental impact, factory operations and community engagement.
If you have any feedback, please contact us at info_au@biomar.com.
The Audit will be conducted by Bio Inspecta. who’s contact information (https://www.bio-inspecta.com.au or seafood@bio-inspecta.com) can be used to submit any comments.
What is the ASC feed standard?
The ASC operates a voluntary, independent third-party certification and labeling scheme based on scientifically robust standards that set criteria for responsible aquaculture. ASC manages global standards for responsible aquaculture and works internationally with seafood producers, processing industries and other environmental groups to promote the best environmental solutions and social responsibility in aquaculture.
The ASC feed standard aims to ensure that feed mills meet strict environmental and social requirements, purchase ingredients from suppliers who take social responsibility, and use environmentally friendly raw materials.
