The BioMar feed factory in Denmark in the finals for the German Sustainability Award 2025.
An independent expert panel has acknowledged BioMar A/S, Denmark, for its efforts as a frontrunner in the development of sustainable aquaculture feed solutions and voted BioMar to the final of the 18th German Sustainability Award. BioMar is honoured for implementing numerous actions with the aim of enhancing sustainability not only within BioMar but also within the whole aquaculture value chain. The jury acknowledges that BioMar develops and implements exemplary solutions for environmentally sound management of aquaculture and for being an innovative company dedicated to sustainability. In December 2025, the official finalist certificate was presented to BioMar, represented by Kai Uwe Bernhard, BioMar Sales Manager Central and North Germany.
The German Sustainability Award is aligned with the goals of the 2030 Agenda and thus with the key areas of transformation. The competitions focus on the areas where there is particularly urgent need for action. They reflect the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the goals of the German government's sustainability strategy: Climate, nature, resources, value chain, and society. The urgency of action in these areas is the central narrative of the German Sustainability Award.
Anders Brandt-Clausen, Managing Director of BioMar A/S, says: “At BioMar, we have set clear goals for 2030 in three important areas: Climate Action, Circular & Restorative practices, and Enabling People”.
“We are proud that our global commitment to sustainability and climate action is being recognised by the German Sustainability Award jury. We are confident that this strengthens the positive market response to the offering of fish and shrimp farmed by our partners in Germany and abroad,” Anders Brandt-Clausen concludes.
